July 14th - Beginner Sewing with Bellina

We love to promote the "lost arts" here! In this class students will learn the beginner skills for machine sewing and create a project under the guidance of Bellina. Bellina has been sewing for years and has had wonderful mentors who have helped her gain her skillset and love of sewing. She won a first place award for a quilt she completed 100% herself in 2025, and she sells her up cycled denim creations at www.lostartsworkshop.net and in the studio. <br><br>Students will learn to use the studio sewing machines, apply aesthetics and design, and begin a skill set that can serve them a lifetime! All materials are provided for this semi-private class. July 15 & 16th - Oil Painting (Approval required)

Beginner oil painting class is for those students who have already completed at least one drawing/charcoal series at the studio. Artists will observe a demo done by Miss Casey and learn the basic fundamentals of safe oil painting. All work will be done in the well ventilated studio using quality art materials. Students will learn about color mixing, solvents and mediums etc. Each will have the opportunity to work in oil on a canvas, and then return the next day to continue work while the oil is still wet to learn the technique and science behind the choice material of the old masters. For this class materials will be provided. This art class is designed for anyone interested in working on their drawing skill set and progressing their work to the next level. Interested students should have the ability to focus for periods of time to allow for a deeper work. SUMMER DAY CAMP - July 28-30th

Art camp is a fan favorite! Students spend the day immersed in art and creative energy! This year summer art camp is NATURE themed! We will spend time outside connecting what we observe to what we are learning in the studio. Each day will include new and exciting art projects, art history, science, outdoor time, and fun exciting memories that last a lifetime! <br><br>Activities may include but not limited to: plan air painting, tie dye, sun printing, nature walks, charcoal/drawing, sculpture, jewelry making<br><br>Required: Students must bring a lunch/snacks and water bottle, if parents request sunscreen or bug spray to be used please provide it for your artist!<br><br>July 28-30th, come for one or all three days- whatever works for your family!<br>Time: 9 am - 2pm<br>Studio: 284 Lane Road, New Sharon <br>

August 7th - Freedom Homeschoolers Art Class

Students will create an art project while building/using foundational skill sets for art in an active and working studio setting. We always discuss an inspiration piece or artist, as well as exploring and viewing other artists work including historical art and living artists. <br><br>Students of all ages will practice color, values, texture, form, balance, perspective etc. Students interested in focusing on art, older or more advanced students are welcome to check out additional classes at Dope Soul Studio. Students will work on building their skill set and technique needed for creating beautiful paintings! We will focus on the basics that make a strong foundation as a beginning artist. Students that have taken classes and/or have foundational skills can work at their level!<br><br>PLEASE NOTE: Students who wish to participate in the drawing class held before painting can use their drawing as their base (underpainting) for their painting in this class if desired! Mini Makers- Clothing Design Session (MONDAY GROUP)

In 2024-25 Dope Soul Studio created and ran a pilot program for young entrepreneurs called The Liberty Project. The purpose was to give young creatives a chance to work in a studio setting and learn skills and concepts that will encourage and support entrepreneurship. I would love to extend the opportunity to my younger friends to join a "Mini Makers Club". The concepts and the skills taught will remain the same (age appropriate) but rather than creating a 'business plan' we will be working towards creating their own quality handmade items. Participants in this session will be taught foundational sewing skills geared towards beginner clothing design. <br><br>Recommendation for age is 7-10 years old but students who are interested and have spent time in the studio will be considered on a case by case basis. Mini Makers Club "CLOTHING DESIGN" will run for a total of 3 classes: every Monday September 14-28th 10am-11:30am. Club Fee is $90.00 for 3weeks which covers all materials needed to create projects. <br><br>Questions : casey@dopesoulart.com

June 26th - Charcoal Art Class

Beginner level charcoal class. We will work on light/shadow/form, get to know materials, and work on a more in depth project. Returning students will keep refining their skills and work to build confidence in the medium. <br><br>This 2 hour session is limited to 6 students and allows time for individual instruction and one on one attention through out the project.<br><br>Class Fee: $20 all materials included<br>Ages: 9-16<br>Time: 10:00am - 12:00<br>Studio: 284 Lane Road, New Sharon
