Mini Makers Club

In 2024-25 Dope Soul Studio created and ran a pilot program for young entrepreneurs called The Liberty Project. The purpose was to give young creatives a chance to work in a studio setting and learn skills and concepts that will encourage and support entrepreneurship. Participants in the program were taught sewing, loom knitting, computer & cricut program skills and much more. I would love to extend the opportunity to my younger friends to join a "Mini Makers Club". The concepts and the skills taught will remain the same (age appropriate) but rather than creating a 'business plan' we will be working towards creating their own quality Christmas gifts. <br><br>Recommendation for age is 7-10 years old but students who are interested and have spent time in the studio will be considered on a case by case basis. Mini Makers Club will run for a total of 5 sessions: every other Monday Oct.6th-Dec.1st. Club Fee is $125.00 which covers all materials needed to create projects. <br><br>Questions : casey@dopesoulart.com

August 21 - Art Class

Students will create a piece of artwork in the style of Alma Thomas. We will learn about foreground, mid ground, and background while focusing on color and technique. A fun and bright creative experience using watercolor and acrylic. Suitable for all ages- work will require layering and repetition. Abstract Self Portrait - 2 Part Series: September 16 & 23

Septemeber 16th & September 23rd.<br><br>Self portraits done in the style of artist Sandra Silberzweig. Students will first study and observe the artists style of work. Over the course of 2 sessions we will create a large scale self portrait using chalk and oil pastels while paying attention to technique and honing skill sets. Class size limited to 6 students for individual attention. Best suited for students with some previous art experience as our work will require layering materials, proper use of warm and cool colors etc. Parents/siblings please remember studio etiquette during working time so that students can focus and have a deeper working experience. August 19- Landscape Painting

Landscape painting;<br>This class is an approximately 2 hour class, but may run over if an artist is in their creative flow state. Students for this class are recommended to have had some basic experience with art/painting and be able to sit/focus for a period of time in a studio setting to allow the experience of a deeper work. We will be creating a landscape painting using acrylic paint on canvas. Students will begin to learn the valuable fundamentals of art: color, composition, value, form, perspective and lighting while being immersed in a hands on learning experience. Class size will be limited to 4-6 students to allow for individualized attention. Students may be dropped off for this class. Parents who prefer to stay are welcomed to do so while keeping in mind studio etiquette and a calm quiet learning environment for the artists. <br>Class Fee: $30<br>August 19th 1:30-3:30 <br>Studio: 284 Lane Road, New Sharon

August 19 - Freedom Homeschoolers

This art class is reserved for the Freedom Homeschoolers group and will run for approximately 1 hour. The project will be geared towards beginner artists. We will touch upon art history/famous art during our session, however most of our time will be focused on creating a guided work. Private Birthday Party

Please read carefully before booking! To reserve a specific date you MUST contact Dope Soul Studio in advance. casey@dopesoulart.com. A guest list with correct spelling of names must be provided when ordering custom apron favors at least 2 weeks in advance of party date.<br><br>LET'S CREATE & CELEBRATE!<br>Custom birthday party booking includes use of Dope Soul Studio 1-3 hours, an art lesson taught by Miss Casey, and all the materials. Each guest will go home with a custom piece of art that they made themselves. <br><br>Party/class fee includes up to 6 painters. Additional painters can be added up to a total of 10. Max number of studio guests: 20.<br><br>Guests are welcome to enjoy cake/snack/water in the studio. We ask that no beverages that are sticky/staining be brought in and no alcoholic beverages please. <br><br>Guests are welcome to bring their own decor or can request a basic party set up. The studio provides an art theme photo backdrop for guests to use. Please do not use items that require tacks or could cause permanent damage to the studio. Thank you!<br><br>We want your special day to be creative and fun, please let us know if there is anything we can do for you or any special requests!
